Assistance systems

On-board safety support
A pedestrian in a high-visibility vest walks through the warehouse behind a forklift truck.

From the warehouse to production or when transporting goods: there is an increased risk of occupational accidents wherever people, machines and materials come into contact on a regular basis. Poor visibility or high speeds can quickly lead to serious collisions with trucks, pedestrians or warehouse infrastructure. Difficult manoeuvres such as working at great heights or in very narrow aisles make it more difficult for operators to concentrate and increase the likelihood of errors.

Linde Material Handling has developed numerous assistance systems to avoid critical situations from the outset and take the burden off the operator. These intelligent systems warn of hazards in good time or take preventive action during operation, allowing operators to concentrate on their core tasks. Assistance systems from Linde Material Handling increase safety in the warehouse and ensure a smooth workflow.

Systems for counterbalance forklift trucks

Counterbalance trucks are versatile solutions in intralogistics, but they also involve some risks. If heavy loads are being transported where there is poor visibility, this can quickly result in collisions. Fast cornering or abrupt manoeuvres can also cause tipping accidents. Assistance systems from Linde Material Handling help to overcome these challenges safely.

The Linde Reverse Assist Radar assistance system detects if there is a pedestrian to the rear of the truck while reversing.

Safety when reversing

The Linde Reverse Assist Radar prevents collisions when reversing. Sensors monitor the area to the rear of the truck and warn the operator of any obstacles. In an emergency, the system actively intervenes and brakes, bringing the truck to a standstill.

Linde Reverse Assist Camera

The Reverse Assist Camera from Linde MH is an AI-based camera system that automatically detects people when the truck is reversing. It warns the operator of impending collisions and can also be set to reduce speed. The system is also available as a Front Assist Camera to monitor the front of the truck. It reliably detects people in work and protective clothing, thereby reducing the risk of injury. The system is already available ex works in the new generation of counterbalance forklift trucks from Linde MH. It can also be retrofitted to all previous series.

Linde Safety Pilot Display

Linde Safety Pilot

The Linde Safety Pilot is an intelligent co-pilot that reduces the risk of tipping accidents. It gives the operator an overview of key parameters such as load weight and load centre distance on a monitor at all times. If the operating status of the truck becomes critical, the monitor is illuminated in warning colours and it emits a warning signal.

Systems for warehouse trucks

Warehouse trucks such as pallet stackers and pallet trucks are indispensable for an efficient material flow. However, users can be at risk of accidents, from falling loads through to foot injuries. With the assistance systems from Linde MH, warehouse technology delivers full performance without compromising on safety.

The active foot bumper detects the operator’s feet and stops the truck.

Active foot bumper

The active foot bumper is an assistance system for pedestrian trucks that protects warehouse personnel from foot injuries. If the sensors in the foot bumper register contact with the operator’s feet, they stop the truck or actively move it away.

Foot sensor

The foot sensor ensures that the operator’s feet remain within the contour of the truck and that there is no risk of crushing injuries. If the operator’s feet are outside the light barrier, the system prevents the truck from moving off from a standing position.

Linde Load Management Advanced

Linde Load Management Advanced makes moving goods with pallet stackers easier and safer. It gives the operator clear visual and acoustic warning signals on a large colour display. If the load weight exceeds the maximum load capacity, the lifting function is automatically blocked.

Systems for reach trucks

With racks getting taller all the time, maximum concentration is required when operating reach trucks, especially when manoeuvring in tight spaces. Linde Material Handling assistance systems take the burden off the operator by detecting obstacles in good time and enabling safe and fast load handling, even at great heights.

Dynamic Mast Control

Dynamic Mast Control (DMC) is an innovative operator assistance system for reach trucks that compensates for mast vibrations with targeted counter-movements of the electric reach mechanism. It enables the operator to handle loads faster, more safely and more efficiently, especially at high lifting heights.

Rack Protection Sensor

The Rack Protection Sensor (RPS) uses light sensors at the tip of the forks to detect obstacles, brakes the truck when approaching them and warns the operator. The assistance system prevents collision damage to racks and goods, saves repair and replacement costs, and enables racks to be fully utilised.

Systems for very narrow aisle trucks

Very narrow aisle trucks enable efficient working in confined spaces. However, very narrow aisles, high racks and uneven floors pose particular hazards. Linde MH assistance systems help the operator to navigate precisely and quickly while steering clear of accidents.

Aisle safety assistant

The aisle safety assistant (ASA) helps to reduce damage to the warehouse environment as the forklift adapts its movement intelligently to its surroundings. The ASA uses RFID tags on the floor or barcodes on the racks as a guide. This allows the speed to be automatically reduced in defined zones, reliably preventing collisions with obstacles.

K very narrow aisle trucks from Linde MH with Active Stability Control (ASC)

Active Stability Control

Active Stability Control (ASC) prevents dangerous oscillations in K very narrow aisle trucks by automatically compensating for uneven floors. The trucks can therefore work at full speed on uneven surfaces. This increases productivity, improves operating comfort and enhances the operator’s sense of safety at great working heights.

Linde Material Handling personal protection system laser scanner

Personal protection system

The personal protection system (PPS) from Linde Material Handling ensures maximum safety in very narrow aisles and complies with DIN standard 15185-2. Equipped with laser scanners at the front and rear, the system reliably detects people and objects within a radius of 9 meters in front of and behind the truck. If detected, the PPS automatically reduces the speed and brings the truck to a gentle stop.

Object Warning System from Linde Material Handling

Object Warning System

The Object Warning System (OWS) detects obstacles in the aisle and in open spaces. Laser scanners at the front and rear of the truck monitor the working environment. As soon as a static object is detected in the path of travel, the system reduces the speed of the truck and brings it to a safe stop.

Higher is Faster Here

The products of a well-known gardening tool manufacturer are stored up to 13 metres high at the Seifert Logistics Group in the north of Ulm, Germany. Yet despite this considerable height, the reach trucks not only load and unload the shelves extremely quickly, but also extremely safely. This is mainly thanks to Linde’s Dynamic Mast Control (DMC) assistance system.
