Linde Material Handling awarded EcoVadis Platinum Medal for the third consecutive year

Linde Material Handling (MH) has once again demonstrated its impressive sustainability performance in the EcoVadis rating. Its overall score increased by nine points compared to the previous year, reaching 92 out of 100. For this result, the intralogistics provider was awarded a Platinum medal for the third consecutive year, placing it among the top global leaders assessed by EcoVadis. Notable advancements were achieved across all four evaluation categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

“Over the past year, we have taken another major step forward in our sustainability efforts,” said Ulrike Just, Member of the Management Board for Linde MH, Sales & Service EMEA, upon the announcement of the EcoVadis results. “We once again achieved Platinum status, significantly improving our overall score. This reflects our ongoing and strategically anchored commitment to environmental and social responsibility. It also demonstrates to our customers that we are committed to supporting them on their own path toward greater sustainability as a responsible partner.” Certifications from the international rating agency EcoVadis are valid for one year, and Linde MH’s new certification lasts until February 2027.

Significant progress across all categories

A particularly noteworthy improvement has been achieved in the Environment category, earning 98 out of 100 points. The positive contributions listed in the EcoVadis assessment form span several pages. “An important point is that Linde MH’s Platinum rating refers to all our manufacturing plants and sales & service locations across EMEA,” Ulrike Just emphasizes. “This gives us a very comprehensive scope.” EcoVadis recognized Linde MH’s environmental policy as exemplary, noting its clearly defined coverage, clearly defined responsibilities, structured review mechanisms and measurable objectives. For the first time, data on CO₂ emissions during the use phase of sold products was provided at the brand level. This was acknowledged and positively evaluated in the EcoVadis rating.

In the Ethics category, the EcoVadis Commission recognized the company’s comprehensive anti-corruption guidelines, regular risk assessments, the protection of sensitive data (ISO 27001 certification) and employee training on topics such as cybersecurity. The Labor & Human Rights category significantly impacted the overall EcoVadis rating score. Improvements achieved by Linde MH, a KION Group member, were therefore especially significant, including its support for the Diversity Charter to promote diversity and equal opportunity. Additional points were awarded in the Sustainable Procurement category for reporting CO2 emissions in the upstream value chain. This information was submitted to EcoVadis at the brand level for the first time.

Sustainability as a key foundation for future-proof intralogistics

In 2026, Linde Material Handling is once again among the top 1 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis. In addition, this year the overall score has significantly increased to 92 out of 100 points.

A key basis for the EcoVadis rating is Linde MH’s sustainability report, updated annually and published online on the company’s website. By participating in the EcoVadis rating, Linde MH is subjecting itself to an evaluation by one of the world’s largest providers of corporate sustainability ratings. The methodology used by the service provider is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact and DIN EN ISO 26000. The latter is a voluntary, non-certifiable guideline on the social responsibility of organizations.

Companies that register with EcoVadis undergo a standardized assessment process. This includes self-reporting via a questionnaire as well as documenting policies, certificates and evidence. EcoVadis experts then review the information and evaluate performance using a points system and a medal category.
