Unrestricted comfort and panoramic visibility

On the X range of reach trucks the battery is located under the operator’s compartment and no longer restricts or occupies valuable space in the cabin area. This has resulted in a superbly spacious workstation where compromises in functional ergonomic layout have been eliminated. As a result, the operator’s compartment has nearly twice the space of a conventional reach truck, and this has been achieved without increasing the chassis length, which remains very compact and manoeuvrable for narrow aisle working.

This unique, space-making concept has enabled the fitment of a particularly wide ‘comfort’ seat with full suspension and two adjustable armrests. The left armrest has an integrated, compact steering wheel while fingertip control joysticks are integrated into the right armrest. There is also a swivelling seat option. The result is a superbly comfortable workstation that places minimal physical demand on the operator and enables high efficiency levels to be maintained throughout the shift, without fatigue.

The advanced seat design incorporates a comprehensive range of adjustments including variable lumbar support and seat height selections to enable operators of any size or gender to find the perfect individual working posture.

Furthermore, the seat has been moved closer to the mast and fork carriage, which in itself might not normally have any particular advantage. But, because the mast is also revolutionary in design, the mast frame uprights provide the operator with an ultra-wide visibility window, which is almost twice as wide as that found on a conventional reach truck mast. This opens up a panoramic, through-the-mast view for the operator that would be impossible to achieve using conventional reach truck design parameters. It is a view that engenders confidence and enhances safety.

The forward positioning of the seat within an exceptionally spacious and unrestricted cabin also means that the operator is always safely within the profiles of the chassis when working, with no shoulders or legs protruding outside the parameters of the X range of reach truck chassis.

A digital head-up instrument display monitors the truck’s systems to provide the operator with a continuous status report on essential functions.
