Linde helps Inscapes manage projects with bespoke materials handling solution

“The reliability and durability of Linde trucks to perform on a 24 hours a day basis has meant that many of our landscaping projects have been completed well within the given deadlines. Linde also has a first class customer service operation ensuring that our rental hire trucks are always delivered quickly and there’s always a Linde representative on hand for extra advice and support.”
Gareth Davies, health and safety manager, Inscapes

Linde Material Handling supplies Inscapes with a range of diesel engine counterbalance trucks to provide the strength and manoeuvrability needed to cope with heavy loads in an outdoor, high pressured environment.

Based in Bridgend in south Wales, Inscapes is a landscaping business which lifts and resurfaces various landscapes. The company has worked on many projects across the UK including projects at the Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, various football clubs and recently at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Gareth Davies, from Inscapes explains: “We have recently completed a large pitch extraction project at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and with the help of our Linde trucks, we completed the project 24 hours before the given deadline. We work on a project by project basis and so the Linde fork truck hire option has worked extremely well for us over the past few years.

As the Inscapes health and safety manager, it’s crucial that I ensure our workforce is safe during each project and with Linde being known for its high safety standards, it seemed like the perfect fit for our requirements."

Rhian Stephens, senior rental controller at Linde Severnside, explains: “We first started working with Inscapes in 2005 when the company required durable trucks which were suitable for indoor and outdoor use. They needed the trucks on a short term basis due to the nature of their project work. Most of Inscapes’ projects involve the lifting and maneuvering of loads from 1.5 to 3 tonnes and so the H16 and H30D diesel engine counterbalance trucks provided the ideal solution for the company.

The trucks supplied are multi-purpose and feature the unique Linde hydrostatic control for unparalleled performance and reliability, together with fuel-efficient and low emission engines. The advanced design features of Linde trucks also maximise operator performance, safety and comfort which in turn make shifts more productive, saving cost, time and energy for the company.”

Linde’s Forklift Truck Hire service provides a unique materials handling solution for UK’s first permanent bar made from ice – ICEBAR London

“Our parent company in Sweden has a long standing relationship with Linde because of its reputation for product performance and customer service. So when it came to our requirements for a truck that could be supplied on short term loan to work in a low ceiling bar environment at sub zero temperatures, the hire of a Linde pallet stacker on was an obvious choice.”
Matt Bourgogne, General Manager, ICEBAR London

Linde’s Fork Truck Hire service provides ICEBAR with a pallet stacker on hire every six months for between three and seven days, to assist with the bar’s seasonal ice refresh and annual bar breakdown and re-build. The stacker makes light work of moving and lifting pallets and large blocks of ice.

ICEBAR is a franchise of the Ice Hotel chain in Sweden. Based in Mayfair, London, the ICEBAR is the UK’s first permanent bar made of ice, sourced directly from the river Torne in northern Sweden. Permanently operating at minus five degrees centigrade, the bar attracts just under 200,000 visitors each year.

Diane Wild, Rental Controller at Linde South East explains:
“We first started working with the ICEBAR London in 2008. The bar is constructed of pure ice blocks, which need to be replaced every six months. Additionally, once a year, an expert design team from Sweden flys into London to supervise the ICEBAR’s breakdown, re-design and rebuild. This procedure normally takes between three and seven days and requires a specialist material handling solution.”

Linde’s L 10 pallet stacker of one tonne capacity offers the benefit of a triplex mast, a key factor for working in confined spaces with low level ceilings. Because the truck mast elevates in three stages, this delivers a maximum lift height before the truck itself gets taller – perfect for the ICEBAR’s low ceilings. Being electric powered, the pallet stacker produces zero emissions, another key consideration for working within a food and drink environment. The compact size of the truck also makes it perfectly suited for manoeuvring in and out of tight spaces.

Linde’s Forktruck Hire ensures access to the very latest equipment without the cost of ownership for maximum flexibility and value. While provision of a single point of contact, by way of a dedicated Linde account manager, ensures continuity of service for the company’s individual material handling needs.
